Sydney St Patrick’s Day Bachelor of the Year 2008 Details Congratulations to Micky Quail on being named the 2008 Sydney St Patrick’s Day Bachelor of the Year. What is the Sydney St Patrick’s Day Bachelor of the Year? The Sydney St Patrick’s Day Bachelor of the Year was created as a fundraising event for the 2004 Sydney St Patrick’s Day Parade & Family Day. The intention was to offer something different to the usual expensive dinner dances and to engage a target group who did not normally contribute in any way to the Sydney St Patrick’s Day Parade & Family Day. Due to its enormous success it has become an annual event and is now in its 5th year. The Sydney St Patrick’s Day Bachelor of the Year is a gala evening showcasing the best of Irish and Irish Australian male talent! Twelve ‘bachelors’ are interviewed on stage and delight and excite their audience with their charm and talents. The Sydney St Patrick’s Day Bachelor of the Year is one of the most popular events in the Irish Australian Calender and in 2008 the event was held in one of Sydney’s most prestigious venues, the Crystal Palace Ballroom at Luna Park. What Happens on the Night? This year the event was set against the backdrop of the magnificent Sydney Harbour, the theme for the Bachelor was elegance and glamour. Guests were treated to drinks and cocktail food and some of the best entertainment on offer. Each bachelor was interviewed and performed a party piece to the audience.
