Have you got what it takes to win the 2013 Gaels’ Got Talent competition?

For the third year running the Sydney St Patrick’s Day Organisation is  running a talent search, the winners of which will perform on the main stage of the Sydney St Patrick’s Day Family Day event on 17 March to an audience of up to 10,000 people.

There will be two auditions in 2013. The first will be on Friday 25 January at Scruffy Murphys, Goulburn St Sydney from 7pm to 10pm. 2011 GAELS' GOT TALENT CONTEST

2011 saw the first of our Gaels' Got Talent contest. We had a total of 22 entrants apply and perform for us at the Gaelic Club, Devonshire St, Surry Hills. On the night the Best Individual award went to "David Wilson" and Best Group went to "Castlecomer". Our judges for this contest were Caitriona Ingoldsby, Barry Mac and Kim Galbraith.

Due to weather conditions the 2011 Parade & Family Day was cancelled and the winning artists didn't get to perform - we have arranged for them to perform in the 2012 celebrations.

GAELS' GOT TALENT GENERAL OVERVIEW

The Gaels Got Talent competition is targeted at non-professional artists.  There are two categories - group and individual. The winner from each category will be given the opportunity to play on stage in Hyde Park at the 2013 St Patrick's Day event.   For amateur musicians and groups the competition gives a great opportunity to showcase their talent to a crowd of up to 30,000. The set can then be streamed on YouTube , band websites or pitched to potential music promoters. The aim of Gaels Got Talent is to get a different cross section of the community interested in attending the St Patrick's Day celebrations in Hyde Park, encourage all ages to get involved and as the professional talent on the stage elevates year on year, build the competition into a sought after event.
